Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Scar Coverage.

We begin with a consultation and color match, then implant tiny pigment deposits into the scar tissue under topical anesthetic. Expect mild discomfort, a darker initial healing phase, and a follow-up appointment to refine blending and color.

Scar Coverage is generally safe for most skin types when performed by trained technicians. We assess for contraindications, perform patch testing if needed, and discuss risks for hypertrophic or keloid-prone skin before proceeding.

Most clients need one main session plus one follow-up touch-up after healing. Deeper or larger scars may require additional sessions spaced six to eight weeks apart to achieve optimal blending and coverage.

Results vary by skin type, sun exposure, and pigment depth, but coverage commonly lasts one to three years. Annual or biennial touch-ups help maintain color and compensate for gradual fading.

Pigmentation camouflages color differences but cannot fully change texture. Raised or indented scars may still be visible on close inspection; we often recommend combined treatments for texture correction when needed.

Aftercare includes keeping the area clean, avoiding heavy sweating, sun exposure, and swimming for recommended time, applying prescribed ointments, and avoiding picking. Follow-up visits ensure healing and finalize color adjustments.
